About El Raks Sai'd

Go back in time to the days of Pharoah and then travel through the ages up to modern-day Cairo as you watch the dancers of El Raks Sai'd Middle Eastern Dance Troupe perform traditional dances of the Middle East. From the etheric, mysterious Pharonic dance in which Nagwa Sai'd portrays the Egyptian queen mourning her dead king, to the glittering Candelabra dance in which dancers balance lit candelabras on their heads, El Raks Sai'd will delight and entertain you.

The rich heritage of this ancient culture will come to life with peasant cane dances, flirtatious group choreographies, the sensuous, graceful Dance Orientale (known also as "Bellydancing"), daring Sword and Tray dances, a hypnotic Snake Dance and more.

With its emphasis on folkloric styles, most of the troupe's material comes from Egypt. Dances from Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Algeria complete the repertoir for this unusual and exotic dance entertainment.
