Amelia has written 47 and 24 in place value tables. Which has more tens? 47 is greater than or less than 24.

47 has four tens. And 24 has two tens. Four tens is more than two tens. So 47 has more tens. Because 47 has more tens, we can say that 47 is greater than 24.

So the answer to the first part of the question is 47 because 47 has more tens. And the answer to the second part of the question is “greater than” because 47 is greater than 24.
