Objectives
Students will be able to
- compare two-digit numbers using words,
- compare two-digit numbers using symbols,
- determine whether or not it is possible to compare two-digit numbers using words or symbols,
- understand and explain how changing the number of tens or ones changes the size of the number.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- reading and writing two-digit numbers,
- the place values of two-digit numbers,
- using the symbols , , and =,
- comparing two-digit numbers using models.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- comparing numbers using number lines,
- comparing numbers with more than 2 digits,
- ordering numbers.
