Lesson: Light-emitting Diodes Physics

In this lesson, we will learn how to identify the action of LEDs in circuits.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

  • identify and draw the circuit symbol for an LED,
  • understand that since an LED is a type of diode, it will only permit a current through it in one direction,
  • identify the direction in which charge can flow through a diode,
  • identify whether a diode in a circuit will be lit or not.
