Lesson: Proving Polynomial Identities Mathematics

Students will be able to

• understand the concept of an identity,
• identify and prove algebraically whether a given identity is true or false,
• prove algebraically whether statements are true or false, for example, whether the sum of two consecutive numbers is always odd,
• recognize errors in algebraic proof.
