Is the following shape 2D or 3D?
A shape that is 2D is two-dimensional or it has two dimensions. We can also think of it as having two measurements: the length and the width. And it’s often called a flat shape. 3D means it’s three-dimensional. There are three dimensions. So there will be three measurements, such as length, width, and height. And our world is three-dimensional. So most of the shapes are like real-life objects that are 3D.
So looking at our shape, we would have the height, we have the width, but we also have this length. So there are one, two, three dimensions. Therefore, this shape is 3D.
