Choose the number that is closest to 110 plus 368.
To do that, let’s round each of these numbers to their nearest 100. We’re going to do that because we notice that all of our interchoices are given in 100s. 110 rounded to the nearest 100 is 100, the digit in the 10ths place is a one. This means we’ll round down. 110 is closer to 100 than it is to 200.
We do the same thing with 368. We look at our 68 in the 10ths place, and we say that six is greater than five and we need to round 368 up. 368 is closer to 400 than it is to 300. So we round it to 400.
100 plus 400 equals 500, and 500 is one of our choices. 500 is the number that is closest to 110 plus 368.
