Find an expression that has the same answer as six plus eight. 10 plus four, nine plus four, eight plus five, or 10 plus three.

We have six pink blocks and eight blue blocks. To help us add six and eight, we can move some of the blue blocks across to make 10. How many blue blocks can we move across to complete the spaces in this 10th block? One, two, three, four. Let’s move four blue blocks across. Now, we have 10 bricks and four bricks.

So the expression that has the same answer as six plus eight is 10 plus four.
