Each time he writes a song, a songwriter creates a number of drafts. For the last five songs, he wrote seven, eight, 10, six, and six drafts, respectively. Find the range of the number of drafts he writes.

We know that to calculate the range of any data set, we subtract the lowest value from the highest value. In this question, we need to find the highest and lowest number of drafts. The highest number of drafts he wrote was 10. This was for the third song. The lowest number of drafts was six, which he wrote for the fourth and fifth song. We can then calculate the range by subtracting six from 10. This is equal to four.

So the range of the number of drafts that the songwriter writes is four.
