Is eight less than, equal to, or greater than four?

We’re being asked to compare the number eight and the number four. We’ve drawn a model which shows eight beads. And this model shows four. These models help us to see very easily that eight is more than four. We need to choose one of three symbols to show that eight is greater than or more than four. This symbol is called less than. This symbol means equal to. And this symbol means greater than. We know that eight is more than four. So the symbol we need to use is greater than because eight is greater than four.
