Objectives
Students will be able to
- determine the number of solutions of a system of linear equations algebraically,
- determine the number of solutions of a system of linear equations graphically,
- understand the meaning of consistency and dependency in relation to systems of linear equations,
- calculate unknown quantities in systems of linear equations, given that the system is consistent, inconsistent, or dependent.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- graphing linear functions,
- solving linear equations.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- solving systems of linear equations.
