Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify one part of a whole,
- identify the numerator of a fraction,
- identify the denominator of a fraction,
- recognize that a unit fraction has a numerator equal to 1,
- write unit fractions.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- how to write fractions using words and numbers,
- the concept of dividing a whole into equal parts.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- fractions greater than 1,
- operations with fractions,
- denominators greater than 12,
- fractions of quantities,
- fractions on a number line.
