Lesson Plan: Relative Motion Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to define the positions, displacements, and velocities of objects compared with those of other objects.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- determine the displacement of an object relative to another object,
- determine the velocity of an object relative to another object,
- determine the relative speed between two objects.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- kinematic formulas for speed and velocity.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- coordinate systems,
- motion of electromagnetic waves.
