Objectives
Students will be able to
- count objects already grouped into tens and ones to make a two-digit number,
- represent two-digit numbers using models,
- decompose two-digit numbers into tens and ones,
- group ones into tens and then count the tens and ones.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the fact that ten ones are equal to a ten,
- counting forward and backward within 100.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- numbers greater than 99,
- the place value of two-digit numbers,
- comparing 2-digit numbers.
