Objectives
Students will be able to
- discuss the meaning of 0,
- read and write the numeral 0,
- use 0 to describe the number of objects in a group,
- show quantities written as a numeral.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- reading, writing, and representing the numbers 1–5,
- cardinality of the numbers from 1–5 (one-to-one correspondence),
- using objects, five frames, number lines, dots, and fingers to represent the numbers from 1–5.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- one more than/less than,
- other 1-digit numbers,
- the word form of 0.
