This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to compare two groups of up to 20 objects by counting how many objects there are in a group.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- count groups of objects arranged vertically, horizontally, and randomly,
- count groups of objects arranged as groups of ten and some more ones,
- count groups of objects to identify the smaller or larger group,
- use the terms less than, greater than, and equal to to compare groups of objects,
- use comparison symbols to compare groups of objects.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- comparing groups of up to 10 objects,
- counting up to 20 objects.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- comparing numbers up to 20,
- ordering numbers up to 20.
