Lesson Plan: Patterns of Growth in Tables and Graphs Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to compare linear functions given in tables and graphs in terms of their rates of change and initial values.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify which of two linear functions given in different forms (including words, equations, tables, and graphs) has a greater
- rate of change,
- initial value,
- solve real-world problems by comparing linear functions given in different forms.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- equations, tables, and graphs of linear functions,
- slopes and intercepts of linear functions.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- nonlinear functions.
