Students will be able to
- recall that plants produce excess waste products through metabolic reactions such as photosynthesis and respiration,
- describe how plants excrete these waste products, including by storing in crystals, depositing in leaves, diffusing into air, guttation, and excretion from the roots,
- state that water is removed by lenticular, cuticular, and stomatal transpiration,
- explain how plants reuse carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogenous waste.
