Lesson: Excretion in Plants Biology • Second Year of Secondary School

In this lesson, we will learn how to describe the processes by which plants excrete substances and outline how some waste products can be reused by the plant.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

recall that plants produce excess waste products through metabolic reactions such as photosynthesis and respiration,
describe how plants excrete these waste products, including by storing in crystals, depositing in leaves, diffusing into air, guttation, and excretion from the roots,
state that water is removed by lenticular, cuticular, and stomatal transpiration,
explain how plants reuse carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogenous waste.
