In this lesson, we will learn how to define and write vectors and the geometric interpretation of basic vector operations.

Students will be able to

understand what a vector is and how it can be defined in terms of its initial and terminal points,
understand, graphically and in vector notation, the concepts
- equivalent vectors,
- vectors in the opposite direction,
- the zero vector,
- scalar multiples of vectors,
understand how to add or subtract vectors using the triangle and parallelogram laws,
write the vector between two points in terms of other vectors given
- a diagram of the shape,
- a description of the shape,
write vectors given as the midpoints or ratios of line segments in terms of other vectors.
