El Raks Sai'd ("The Happy Dancers"), has been together since 1979 and is taught and directed solely by Nagwa Sai'd . The troupe has performed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., for festivals, fairs, conventions, museums, universities and private parties. Nagwa does extensive research for authentic choreography and costuming, even traveling to the Middle East for accurate first-hand reference. She will frequently sponsor a prominent American artist in Middle Eastern dance for a workshop or seminar in the Philadelphia area, thereby enabling others to learn and broaden their skills. Nagwa's hard work, study and dedication to this art form have enriched the lives of many in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. She has been called "Philadelphia's First Lady of Middle Eastern Dance" by the Philadelphia Bulletin.
