The line graph shows the ages of 125 people. Which age has the largest number of people?

On this axis, we have frequency. When we use the word frequency in math, we mean the number of times a certain value occurs. And for this graph, the values we’re looking at is the ages of a group of people. The frequency tells us how many of a certain age there were.

If we look at the people who were five years old, we’ll see that their dot is placed at a frequency of 30. That means that there were 30 people aged five.

Our question wants to know which age has the largest number of people. The age with the largest number of people will be the age with the highest frequency. We’re looking for the dot that is the furthest up on the frequency lines. The highest frequency on this table is 35. There were 35 people that were 25 years old. In the age range of 25, we have a frequency of 35. 35 people out of the group were age 25.

Our question asked, which age has the largest number of people? And we found that the largest number of people were the people that were 25 years old.
