Here, we have six bricks. And here, we have six plus one. Even numbers are divisible by two. That means, we can divide them by two and there are no bricks left over. Let’s group our bricks into twos. Two, four, six, eight, 10, 12. And one more makes 13.

We still have one brick left over. This means that the number is odd. Six plus six plus one is 13. And 13 is an odd number.
