In this video, we will show you how to create a student account.
In order to create a student account, you must be a portal admin and be signed in to
admins.nagwa.com.
Click on “Add Student” under “Activities” or click on “Users” in the toolbar, then
click “Students”, and finally click “+ New Student”.
Notice that the default screen allows you to add students “One by One”, which is what
we want to do here.
First, you’ll need to choose a student code. This needs to be a unique code containing 2 to 25 characters. If you don’t already have codes generated for your students, it’s probably easiest to
generate numerically increasing codes such as 0001 and 0002; just keep track of them
as you add more students. We are gonna start with 0001.
The first name of the student that we’d like to add is “Harry” and his last name is
“Potter”.
Harry is a “Fourth Year” student, so we need to select this year, and we want to add
him to our “Transfiguration” class, so we click where it says “Choose Classes” and
select this from the list. Note here that we can add Harry to multiple classes. For example, we can also select “Potions”.
Once you’ve completed all the necessary data, click “Add”; an account will be created
for Harry!
You’ll now see a banner saying “Student was added successfully.” And you’ll see the student appear at the top of the list.
If an error occurs, a message will appear explaining the problem. If this happens, please follow the guidance and click “Add” again. The most common error is using a repeated student code, so make sure this is
unique!
You’ll see the full list of students by clicking “Users” and then “Students”. It’s worth noting that the students’ usernames for their accounts are listed in the
fourth column of this list, and it’s this username that they will use to sign in to
their portal.
