Video Transcript

Find the solution set of three 𝑥 minus nine equals negative six in the natural numbers.

Before we begin solving, what are the natural numbers? The natural numbers are- are counting numbers, one two three four five, all the way up until infinity. So these are the positive numbers excluding zero. So when we solve, any answer that we get needs to be in this set.

So our first step for solving for 𝑥, we need to add nine to both sides of the equation. So we have three 𝑥 equals three. And dividing both sides by three, we get that 𝑥 is equal to one. And one is in the set of the natural numbers. Therefore, one will be our final answer.
