Determine the type of the angle highlighted in orange.
We don’t have to measure the angle. We just need to figure out which type of angle it is. Let’s think about what we know about angles. We call this angle a right angle. It measures 90 degrees. We usually see right angles in the corners of squares or rectangles. But we could also think about a right angle as a quarter of a turn within a circle. An acute angle is an angle which is less than 90 degrees or less than a right angle. And we call an angle which is greater than 90 degrees an obtuse angle.
Which type of angle is the angle highlighted in orange? It’s a right angle. If we turn our drawing upside down, it even looks like a letter T. The angle highlighted in orange is a right angle.
