The line graph shows the sales
figures for a company in the first half of a given year. Which month had the sales increased
the most from the previous month? By how much did they increase?
Our months are found down here, and
the amount of money is found over here. So let’s go each month and write
how much was sold per month. During month number one, 10000
dollars were sold. And even though it says 10, it says
that the sales are in thousands of dollars, so it’s 10000.
During month number two, 16000
dollars were created by sales. During month number three, there
were 12000. Month number four had 14000. Month number five had 18000. And month number six had 4000.
So we want to know which month had
the sales increased the most from the previous month. From month one to month two, it
increased 6000. From month two to month three, it
decreased 4000. From month three to month four, it
increased 2000. From month four to month five, it
increased 4000. And from month five to month six,
it decreased 14000. So the biggest increase was 6000
dollars, and that was from month one to month two.
And we’re asked which month had the
sales increased the most from the previous month. So we would say the second
month. And the amount that it increased
was 6000 dollars. So this will be our final
answer.
