Objectives
Students will be able to
- use skip counting to multiply by 6,
- recognize that 6 multiplication facts are the same as 3 multiplication facts doubled,
- add one more group to a 5 multiplication fact to multiply by 6,
- recite 6 multiplication facts up to 60.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- representing multiplications using arrays and equal groups,
- the multiplication symbol,
- multiplying by 2 and the concept of doubling,
- 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 multiplication facts.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- multiples of 6 greater than 60,
- solving word problems.
