Objectives
Students will be able to
- solve one-step and two-step money word problems,
- work with amounts of money in pounds, pence, and decimal notation,
- add amounts of money written in decimal notation by converting them to pounds and pence,
- subtract amounts of money written in decimal notation by converting them to pounds and pence.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- converting amounts written in decimal notation to pounds and pence,
- adding and subtracting money with regrouping.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- formal addition and subtraction of money written in decimal notation,
- word problems involving multiplication and division.
