Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify the link between addition and subtraction using models and images,
- write fact families of addition and subtraction number sentences,
- write fact families equations to match real-life examples,
- find a missing number in fact families or a missing fact family.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the relationship between addition and subtraction with numbers up to 10,
- adding and subtracting up to 20,
- writing addition and subtraction equations,
- using addition to subtract mentally.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- numbers greater than 20,
- choosing addition/subtraction to solve a word problem.
