Objectives
Students will be able to
- count how many equal groups there are and how many objects are in each group,
- use skip counting or repeated addition to find how many objects there are in total,
- represent the equal groups in a number sentence.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- recognizing whether a model shows equal groups,
- adding two 1-digit numbers within 20,
- counting in 2s to 20,
- counting in 5s to 50,
- counting in 10s to 100.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- arrays,
- the multiplication symbol.
