Objectives
Students will be able to
- divide a number line into equal parts to show a given fraction,
- write fractions with the same denominator on a number line from 0 to 1,
- locate fractions on a number line,
- apply knowledge of fractions on number lines to solve word problems.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- how to write fractions using words and numbers,
- unit and nonunit fractions up to 1.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- fractions greater than 1,
- equivalent fractions,
- denominators greater than 12.
