This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to analyze and interpret information in order to determine what can be known from it using scientific methods.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- recognize assumptions that are made when interpreting experimental results,
- recognize when conclusions are consistent with given experimental results and assumptions,
- recognize when conclusions are inconsistent with given experimental results and assumptions.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- basic knowledge of familiar physical phenomena,
- interpreting graphs.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- quantitative analysis of experimental results.
