- subtracting two numbers within 10 by counting back using models (objects and counters),
- subtracting two numbers within 10 by counting back without models,
- find the missing number in subtraction sentences,
- solve story problems involving subtracting two numbers within 10 by counting back.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- subtracting numbers up to 5,
- reading and writing subtraction equations.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- subtracting from numbers above 10,
- vertical subtraction,
- subtracting zero or all,
- using number lines.
