Students will be able to
- use a number line to subtract by counting back,
- use a number line to subtract by counting on,
- choose whether to count on or back to solve a subtraction equation,
- solve word problems by using a number line to subtract.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- subtraction by counting on and back without a number line.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- numbers greater than 20,
- subtracting ones from teen numbers by breaking apart numbers,
- subtracting by making 10.
