Objectives

Students will be able to

  • define data,
  • identify the parts of a picture graph, including the title, labels, and key,
  • identify the parts of a bar graph, including the title, labels, scale, and bars,
  • compare and contrast bar graphs and picture graphs.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • classifying and grouping things,
  • counting things up to at least 21,
  • identifying things.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • analyzing graphs,
  • answering questions about graphs.
