Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • negative numbers (fractions, mixed numbers, and decimals),
  • converting between mixed numbers and fractions,
  • converting between fractions and decimals (where the decimal terminates),
  • numerical long division.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • percentages,
  • ratios,
  • performing conversions without a calculator.
