Lesson Plan: Factors
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to find positive factors of whole numbers using multiplication and division.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- define the factors of a number,
- use multiplication and division to find the factors of a number,
- find and count all the factors of a number,
- find systematic ways to find all the factors of a number.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- using models to find the factors of a number.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- common factors,
- dividing by two-digit numbers.
