Objectives
Students will be able to
- use models to find the related addition for a subtraction problem,
- write an addition sentence to check the solution to a subtraction problem,
- check answers to subtraction word problems using addition.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- subtracting two-digit numbers,
- adding up to two-digit numbers.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- the column method of subtraction.
