Objectives
Students will be able to
- find the center of gravity of a uniform rod with additional masses suspended from it,
- find the center of gravity of a structure modeled by uniform rods, for example, a wire frame structure,
- determine distances between the sides of a structure composed of uniform rods and the center of gravity.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- finding the center of gravity of a system of particles.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- center of gravity of laminas.
