Objectives
Students will be able to
- measure masses in grams and kilograms,
- use that 1 kilogram = 1,000 grams to convert between whole numbers of kilograms and grams,
- use models to partition measurements to convert them,
- compare masses in kilograms, grams, and mixed measures.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- measuring masses in grams,
- measuring masses in kilograms,
- the place value of four-digit numbers,
- comparing four-digit numbers.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- decimal notation of measures.
