Lesson Plan: The Numbers 21–30
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to represent the numbers 21–30 using models and read, write, and count the corresponding numerals.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use models to represent the numbers 21–30,
- describe the numbers 21–29 as two tens and some ones and the number 30 as three tens,
- read and write the numerals 21–30,
- count from 21 to 30.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- counting up to 20,
- using models to represent the numbers 0–20,
- reading and writing numerals up to 20.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- numbers greater than 30,
- numbers in word form.
