This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to use speed–time graphs to show the speed of an object in uniform motion.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- know that a uniform speed is represented on a speed–time graph by a horizontal line,
- read the value of the speed for a point on a speed–time graph.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the difference between uniform speed and average speed,
- interpreting a distance–time graph.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- calculation of the area under a line,
- acceleration.
