Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify arrays and nonarrays,
- identify and count rows and columns in an array,
- create an array with a given number of rows and columns,
- use skip counting to find the total number of objects in an array.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- counting in 2s up to 20, in 3s up to 30, and in 5s and 10s within 50,
- adding equal groups.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- writing repeated addition sentences for an array,
- the multiplication symbol.
