Objectives
Students will be able to
- use sigma notation to write down and evaluate a Riemann sum,
- correctly differentiate between a right Riemann sum and a left Riemann sum in sigma notation.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- right, left, and midpoint Riemann sums.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- the definite integral as a limit of Riemann sums,
- evaluating definite integrals.
