In this lesson, we will learn how to apply the angle relationships between a pair of parallel lines and a transversal to establish and use other relationships between parallel lines and transversals.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

establish and use the following:
- if a line is perpendicular to a line , then it is perpendicular to any other line parallel to ,
- if two lines are both perpendicular to a third line, then they are parallel,
- if two lines are both parallel to a third line, then they are parallel,
recognize that if a set of parallel lines divides a transversal into segments of equal lengths, then that set divides any other transversal into segments of equal lengths.
