Lesson: Sound Waves Physics

In this lesson, we will learn how to describe sound wave propagation, define audible frequencies, and explain the applications of reflections of sound waves.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

identify a wavelength of a sound wave from an image of its compression and rarefaction regions,
apply the formula speed = frequency wavelength to sound waves,
use knowledge of the speeds of sound waves in different materials to show how reflected sound waves are used to measure distances between objects,
identify the frequency range of sound waves audible to humans.
