Lesson: Least Squares Regression Line Mathematics

Students will be able to

• find and interpret the equation of the least squares regression line,
• use the equation of the least squares regression line to solve real-life situations,
• estimate the value of or given a table of - and -values or the regression model,
• find the points that lie on the same least squares regression line,
• calculate the value of the regression coefficient (the slope),
• identify the appropriate linear model,
• calculate the least squares regression line given parts of the formula such as the standard deviation or the mean.
