Lesson Plan: The Work–Energy Principle Mathematics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to use the work–energy principle to solve problems of motion of a particle.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand that the the change in the kinetic energy of an object is equal to the net work done on the object,
- use the work–energy principle to solve problems involving a moving particle under the action of a constant force.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- kinetic energy ,
- work ,
- collisions (elastic and inelastic),
- friction.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- problems involving variable forces.
