Lesson Plan: Calculating Wave Motion Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to use the wave speed formula, 𝑠 = 𝑓𝜆, to calculate the movement of waves of different frequencies and wavelengths.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- Use the formula in all combinations,
- determine wavelength, amplitude, period, and frequency from graphs of displacement against distance and against time.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- transverse waveforms,
- wavelength,
- amplitude.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- displacement as a function of time or distance.
